In addition to empowering communities through agriculture, Profeeds is equally committed to promoting animal welfare.
Throughout FY25, Profeeds continued to champion animal welfare causes through long-term collaborations with key partners, including Imire Rhino & Wildlife Conservation, Veterinarians for Animal Welfare Zimbabwe (VAWZ), Zimbabwe National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ZNSPCA), Tikki Haywood Foundation, and others.
Imire Rhino & Wildlife Conservation
Profeeds donated a total of 30MT of game feed to support wildlife conservation efforts, helping sustain endangered species and protect biodiversity.
Veterinarians for Animal Welfare Zimbabwe (VAWZ)
Profeeds made an annual contribution of USD 10,000, which supported three sterilisation and vaccination campaigns in Kariba, Chimanimani, and Beitbridge. These campaigns resulted in:
- 83 animals spayed
- 76 animals neutered
- 868 animals vaccinated against rabies
Beyond campaigns, the partnership also enabled the treatment of various walk-in cases, such as:
- Cleaning and stitching of open wounds
- Addressing ocular conditions
- Providing care for emaciated and malnourished animals, particularly dogs and puppies
- Diagnosing and treating Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumour (CTVT) through sterilisation and chemotherapy
- Administering internal and external parasite treatments, including dips for severe tick
- infestations
These initiatives underscore Profeeds’ dedication to responsible animal care, community health, and disease prevention, reflecting our commitment to both domestic animals and wildlife
